Valladolid Draws Rayo To End Run

Draw Ends Rayo Vallecano's Unbeaten Run, Valladolid Gets First Home Draw

Rayo Vallecano's unbeaten start to the 2023 season came to an end on Monday as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Real Valladolid. The result is also Valladolid's first draw at home this season.

Valladolid Solid Defensively

Despite missing several key players due to injury, Valladolid put up a solid defensive performance to keep Rayo Vallecano at bay. The home side limited Rayo to just one shot on target in the entire match and goalkeeper Jordi Masip was rarely tested.

Rayo Vallecano Lacked Creativity

Rayo Vallecano, on the other hand, struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout the match. The visitors' attack was often disjointed and they were unable to find any rhythm in the final third.

Missed Opportunities

Both sides had their chances to win the match in the second half. Valladolid came close to scoring on several occasions, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Rayo also had a couple of good chances, but they were unable to capitalize.

Teams Remain In Top Half

The draw leaves Rayo Vallecano in fifth place in the La Liga standings, while Valladolid remains in ninth place. Both teams will be looking to get back to winning ways in their next match.

What's Next?

Valladolid will travel to Getafe on Friday, while Rayo Vallecano will host Almería on Sunday.
