Brazilian athletics will have one more representative in the 2024 Paralympic Games. This is Juliana Silva, from GoioerĂȘ, in the northwest of the state. The athlete leaves for Paris this Thursday (24), to compete in the 100 meter event.

Juliana, 25, was born with arthrogryposis, a condition that causes stiffening of the joints. She started practicing sports at the age of 12, in the escolinha of the city of GoioerĂȘ, and quickly stood out for her talent.

In 2015, she was called up to the Brazilian national team and, since then, has been accumulating achievements. She was champion at the Parapan American Games in Lima, in 2019, and in the Loterias Caixa Athletics Open, in 2023.

Now, Juliana's goal is to shine at the Paralympic Games. She will compete in the 100-meter race on Thursday, August 25th, at the Stade de France.
