Joe Biden was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on November 20, 1942. He graduated from the University of Delaware and Syracuse University Law School. Biden served as a New Castle County Council member from 1970 to 1972 and as a United States Senator from Delaware from 1973 to 2009.
Vice Presidency and Presidential Election
Biden was elected Vice President of the United States in 2008, serving under President Barack Obama. He played a key role in passing the Affordable Care Act and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. In 2020, Biden ran for president and defeated incumbent Donald Trump. He was sworn into office on January 20, 2021, as the 46th President of the United States.
